Chris Hemsworth was in a pretty good mood as we sat down with him at Comic Con in San Diego last weekend.

He was telling us about how he used to feel pressure when he was in the role of Thor in the Avengers movies. “I’d have to shoot all day,” he says. “I was miserable.

“And I knew I would have to do that and I could do that in front of the camera, behind the camera. But in a movie, you don’t have that luxury and your performance has to be brilliant.”

But Thor is Hemsworth’s crowning achievement in the MCU. He has already shared the story of his run-in with his father, who had to have him checked out by a doctor after he nearly died of a heart attack.

He had a stent placed in his heart. So he can’t even say the phrase “heart attack.”

We met with Chris Hemsworth in the bowels of San Diego Convention Center, just off Balboa Park, where he was promoting his new film, Avengers: Endgame. Hemsworth had been shooting the movie for about three months, and the final version of his character, Thor, was in production for about a month and a half.

He’s not alone: He has a younger brother to share the spotlight with him, so it is very much as if he is the third family member.

He is the first guy on set who has to sign his cast list, something he did without any problem. We also learned he had to be checked out by a psychiatrist.

He got a little nervous that there was a time when they could’t make it to a set. He had to be on the phone with his brother to get set up
