Oscar Predictions: “Green Book” and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”

Bold predictions for six top Oscar categories, including best picture, went off as predicted in the past.

On Oscar night, it is possible to make bold and ambitious predictions about the winning films, and to predict big categories where the favorite or underdogs are likely to win.

But, by definition, the Academy Awards are a “best of” category, based on a formula that is never perfect.

The year 2018 is also the first year that three films have been nominated for best picture, and the first year that there are four nominees in one category.

“It’s a new way to do the Oscars,” said Oscar analyst Daniel D’Addario, pointing to the inclusion of “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” “Get Out” and “Green Book.”

The categories with the most wild bets that could earn you a snazzy title in predictions: best actor, best actress, best film and best director.
