Patrice Evra: Former France star opens up about sexual abuse allegations
Swansea City striker Pascal Gross is not the only one to be embroiled in a cloud of controversy.
Former France star Mariano Diaz reportedly has a criminal case dating back to 1991, in which he was accused of sexual assault.
Speaking on Sunday afternoon as he opened up about his claims and the accusations against him, the French international said: “Somebody had to do something… I had no choice. Somebody had to be held accountable,” sparking an outpouring of support for him.
The striker, who has made a staggering £32m since joining the club in 2011, is also a target for his former club.
As well as being embroiled in the sexual assault claims, he was accused of rape by three separate women. The case was thrown out but he was allegedly cautioned in court by a police officer.
Gross, who also joined Juventus last season, is not the only Swansea player to be embroiled in a claim of sexual abuse.
The club has allegedly had a series of players accused of sexual abuse in the past two years by ex-striker David Ginola.
